Be Outdoorsy in the All-New 2023 Mazda CX-50

An all-new Mazda SUV is coming and will be produced right here in the U.S.A.! The new 2023 Mazda CX-50 was designed exclusively for North American drivers. With standard i-Activ AWD, the new Mazda CX-50 boasts more off-road capability in a Mazda than ever before. Featuring signature Mazda Kodo design, the first-ever Mazda CX-50 is about the size of the Mazda CX-5 but built on a new platform and runs on the efficient SKYACTIV-G® or high-performance SKYACTIV-G® 2.5 Turbo engine.

More Off-Road Capable

The main distinction of the all-new Mazda CX-50 is that it was made to maximize performance on any type of terrain. Rather than select from different off-road or terrain modes, the new Mazda CX-50 features i-Active AWD, which reacts to whatever kind of terrain is currently under the tires. Using G-Vectoring Control, the i-Activ AWD system adjusts the weight placement to the tires and manages torque, helping the Mazda CX-50 perform better on changing roadways without having to switch modes.

The Mazda CX-50 features the brand new Mazda Intelligent Drive Select, or Mi-Drive, which features four drive modes – normal, sport, off-road, towing (with Mazda CX-50 Turbo models) – to optimize performance depending on your current driving needs.

In addition, the new 2023 Mazda CX-50 features a higher ride height than the Mazda CX-5 and is also a bit longer. New high-strength roof rails paired with reinforced B-pillars enable the Mazda CX-50 to better secure outdoor equipment to its roof.

Rugged Design

To accompany its enhanced off-road capability, the new Mazda CX-50 features a rugged new exterior design. With a wide stance, black cladding and matte black accents, the new Mazda CX-50 harmonizes well with nature. A low roofline and an elongated cargo floor with a low liftgate make it easier to access rooftop cargo.

Inside, the new Mazda CX-50 was still designed with comfort in mind, albeit with more consideration for outdoor activities, including more cargo space. Blended fabrics will function well with the dirt that inevitably comes with outdoorsy adventures, while premium leather and amenities will still be available on higher trims. And the new Mazda CX-50 debuts a panoramic moonroof, a first in the new Mazda lineup.\

Mazda Performance

While the new Mazda CX-50 is optimized to handle off-road driving, you will still enjoy the smooth on-road driving dynamics for which Mazda is known. Mazda knows most of your time driving is on paved roads, so the new Mazda CX-50 blends dynamic, agile handling with off-road capability when you need it.

For its debut, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 offers the choice between the 186-hp SKYACTIV-G® engine or the powerful 2.5 Turbo that produces up to 250-hp. Look out for a hybrid powertrain to be added to the Mazda CX-50 lineup in the near future.
